Bookpacking’s Berlin
Berlin – in particular the former East – is one of my favourite cities; so here’s Bookpacking’s personal Berlin Google map to help you share the magic.
Just like the iconic – and groundbreaking – London tube map (click here for history), the standard BVG subway/train map for Berlin is a schematic. But if you look at this nifty alternative Berlin transport map, you can see all the lines superimposed on a Google map. Geschickt, nein?
The actual shape of the S-Bahn ring that encompasses central Berlin (line S41 or S42 depending whether your orbit is clockwise or anti-clockwise respectively) roughly resembles a dog’s head, hence the nickname Hundekopf.
